Chiropractic Manipulation:  The term “Adjustment” refers to the specific manipulation chiropractors apply to the vertebrae that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally. Chiropractic treatment is of a conservative nature consisting of specific manipulation of misalignment of bones, usually vertebras of the spine that interferes and decreases normal nerve function. 

 

According to Dr. Suess from Colorado State University he states that “The weight of a dime on a nerve can reduce and decrease normal nerve function to 40%”.  This can be compared to having your foot on a water hose which is constricting the normal flow of water, then by removing your foot, you restore normal water flow. In this example, instead of water, it would be electrical messages from your brain to your body.
